Community Health Training Centres:
To train the interns & students, Urban & Rural
Health Training centers are established and
maintained under the department of Community
Medicine.

Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC)
General Principles:
It is a community laboratory for the UG & PG students
and interns to
learn Family, in its total environment. Family as a
nucleus for comprehensive health care.
Functions:
1.
Family Practice – To train UG, PG & Intern medical students for
family base practice through community set up
2.
Family welfare services to the families registered.
3.
Health education and awareness program.
4.
Extended Medical services - Curative medical care as
part of health care services through OPD base
services and referral services at C. U. S. M. C.
general hospital.
b.
Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC)
General Principles:
The centre aims at training the students for
community oriented comprehensive health care in a
rural setting.
Activities:
1. Survey of the surrounding houses and
registration of the families.
2. Identified families allotted to groups of
students as part of the family study. Problems to be
identified and families to be followed up by the
students till their internship. They would be
responsible for the health of the family members.
3. Training of
interns and postgraduate students. (Long term)

Mobile Clinic
Objectives and Activities:
1.
To provide early diagnosis and treatment of cases
and prevention of diseases of the rural population.
2.
Create health awareness by health education and
exhibition etc
3.
Referral and follow up services.
4.
Training of village youth
5.
School health program.
6.
Screening for diseases.
Interns, health workers and paramedical workers
visit 4 villages per day from Monday to Saturday.
About 25-30 patients are treated per visit in a
village.
